Daily Devo – May 28, 2018

Transcript:

Today is Monday, May 28, 2018. Hi, my name is Adam Burton and you are listening to the Daily Devo; a short devotional designed to help you apply God’s Word to your life. The content comes from the Gospel Project.

Take a few moments and read: Hebrews 11–12:2.

When it comes to good deeds, we must remember that every good work must be submitted to the glory of Jesus. Every spiritual discipline must be done as a means of deepening our friendship with Jesus. Every religious book read and every biblical doctrine studied must be aimed at increasing our affection for Jesus. It is only by focusing on Jesus that we will be able to endure in the Christian life and have a faith that lasts to the finish line.

Think about this: While it is important to connect faith and works, why is it also important to distinguish between the two? Why would the idea of justification by faith alone, not by works, be the idea upon which the church stands or falls?

If you are in need of prayer, please get in touch with me. I would love to pray for you. You can connect with me on social media or shoot me an email: adam@adamburton.net.
